It is a narrative of his life starting from his childhood to adulthood all the while exploring Hera's (his father's 'jealous' wife) attempts to harm and trick him and his family, the loss of his first family, visits to oracles, the twelve labors, and his mortal death. The story tells a version of the tale of Palaemon, the son of Zeus and a mortal, who eventually takes on the name Hercules.
